Post by jackh »

I just figured out sallly, its DADGBE anyway..
Verse: F# E F# E F# E A, play it once without dist then again with it. Ye should know how it goes!
Then the kinda pre chorus: D F# A F
Chorus is: A C F G D, hold D for a while then, E -> F# G A C D

This is my first tab anyway..and im 15.. so leave me know if its anything close to the right one.

Class. I'd say just make them into images or text files and upload them in the gallery. You should be able to figure it out by just browsing around.

On the Turn

Post by Aypok »

I tabbed out the song On The Turn last summer, 'cause my band was covering it and the other guitarist couldn't work it out. http://www.aypok.co.uk/crap/ontheturn.tab - I hope that's of some use to someone. :)

From what I can tell, it's pretty much right - or at least pretty close. BUT I think the intro riff is a little off.

I remember it sounding fine when my band played it like that, but none of my guitars are in drop-D right now, so I can't check. Playing it in Db is a little hard, but do-able. :)

Most of the On The Turn album is reasonably easy to figure out. The stuff I have trouble with is their first album...

Kerbdog tabs?

Post by dragginthru »
Hey guys... Most of the 'dog songs are easy enough to pick up with a bit of practice, but from what I can make out, Cormac's favourite shape (and mine!!) is to play the lower 2 strings in the normal drop D power cord shape, and then the next 2 strings up, he plays 2 frets up.
Yeah thats Dry Rise's chord of choice too :)

Its having the 9th note up from the root there (3rd finger) that gives it that unfinished, shimmering, epic quality.

Loads of bands use it - Everlong by Foo Fighters being a textbook example of how good it sounds.

does anyone know the second guitar part for the intro to xenophobia?
the initial riff is easy enough but i cant hear what the second guitar is doing when it comes in!
also, i can play most of the dog tunes but i'm far too lazy to tab them out unless someone really wants me to?

The second guitar part of Xenophobia sounds like a bass guitar playing a walking bass line with some sliding up and down the fretboard and a REALLY thick chorus effect applied.  There may also be an octave effect (one up, one down) on that bass guitar sound.  I suppose you could play the same notes on a guitar (especially if you have an octaver pedal), but I'd recommend using a bass guitar to figure the notes out first.
I burn a fire to stay cool.
