S/T is trickier because there are two guitars and also, are we talking live or recorded? Dry Riser is completely different live. Battle plays a different riff (and I mean, not just when he plays it on his own, when Billy played on it, he played the different riff too.) If you listen to something like Live in Concrete, you can hear that Battle is playing the riff he always played live and Billy is playing the one on the record. Dunno why it's different, but it is.

lets tab the album. it has the best sound quality. some parts are really hard. do you know which songs and drop-d and which are standard? that would be a start

From what I've worked out so far...

Drop D are:

End of Green
Dry Riser
Dead Anyway
Earthworks
Dummy Crusher

The rest are in standard tuning - which is back to my original wonderment of how Cormac plays chords (like in Clock) but I suppose its all about comfort and practice and no different from me playing it the usual way.

Anyway, like I said, tabs will be up soon enough, its not easy.

The Inseminator is in D too I think (this was me listeneing to it on my iPod and comparing it the the opening of Dry Riser, which is D, so it might be E, I guess..)

I found Scram on the web the other day. Dunno how good it is. It was by the guy that tabbed a lot of stuff out back in the late 90's, so it's probably not too far off. He was pretty good.

We should include Xenophobia and Self Inflicted, coz they're from the same session (Jack Endino recorded them) and thy might have been album tracks given different circumstances (both drop-D.)

As for Battle's upside down chords... Capo? Dunno. I don't remember him using one, but I don't remember him *not* using one. Also, of the Wilt stuff in standard tuning, it's always barre chords or even power chords pretty much. That's not so bas to play upside down.

I know a female bass player that learnt to play a righthanded bass upside down and she can't play a standardly strund bass ata ll, but she knows all the scales upside down and can play some pretty scarily hard stuff.

Tip.... back in the day, the only way to tab stuff out was to learn it at full speed. Audacity and audio programs like it have the option to slow down audio without changing the pitch. Might be worth a go! I'm just trying Dummy Crusher to see how is sounds :)

(after testing)

Yes it does kind of work. I slowed the tempo by 50% and ran a low band filter and the result was horrible to listen to from a perfectionist point of view, but you can clearly hear the riff being played much more clearly. I think that will work out pretty well. The not changing pitch thing is obviously important - as the guitar can be tuned normally ;)

Scram is the only Kerbdog tab I've ever found on the net and its not too far off if I recall.

And I only ever tab from full speed, hence my slow speed.

I suppose it may be quicker way would be to film myself and post them somewhere.

Tempo shiftiing is seriously powerful. Learn the fingering at half speed and then it's simpler to graduate to full speed.

If you are on Windows, use this : http://www.power-tab.net/products.php  It'll speed you up no end and the prinable output is amazingly good. Killer feature ; it wiill play back the tab using midi in realtime. You can get it absolutely note perfect with a little tweaking.

OK, miece, thats almost a backhanded challenge.

The Inseminator is in standard, it sounds heavy but E works best for me.

Deal for you miece - if you want to compare and contrast, you shove up your versions of Earthworks and Dummy Crusher.

I'll get on with doing the standard tuned songs and Dead Anyway.
