This is all that is left of the first (yes, FIRST) Wilt page on the Net:

http://www.memsom.mistral.co.uk/wilt.htm

I started it the day I got back from Ireland after seeing the last Kerbdog show. The logo is scanned from the flyer they gave out for the Funnel gig, which happened a few weeks after the last gig. This was, what, second week of March, 1998? ;-)

Yes, the link is dead and not in the wayback machine either. Weirdly, that ISP still has my site up, even though I closed my account 2 or 3 years ago!! LOL!!

The wayback machine is as slow as treacle tonight... the URL would have been:

http://www.interalpha.net/customer/memsom/wilt.htm

But is did come up trumps:

The First ever WILT Homepage

This page is currently the only page dedicated to the on-going saga of Kerbdog. Now that the band has split up in an official way, this page will contain every piece of news I obtain on WILT, Cormac and Darraghs new Band!
To start with this page will be in the form of a FAQ. This is so that people can 'set' and 'answer' questions on the new band. If anyone wants to know something about them, then email me the question, I'll post it up here, and then hopefully when I get an answer I'll add that in too.

LAST UPDATED.. 5/9/98

EXCLUSIVE!!!!!

Yes.. we got it first ;)

NO WORRIES IS NOW AVAILABLE

The long awaited Wilt single is now available from Discord records. I got mine about 3 or 4 days ago mail order. BAD NEWS THOUGH!? It's limited edition, so everyone better run out *right now* and look for it.. CAT# is D014. As predicted it includes the song as played by Kerbdog on the 7/3/97 at their last gig. Contrary to Damien Penstons beliefs (lol), the song is actually called 'I want it all'.
Full track listing is :

No worries
Working for the man
I want it all
More info when I get a chance.. scans etc.

QUESTIONS:

About the band..
1.0 Who are Wilt, and where do they come from?
1.1 What happened to Kerbdog?
1.2 Who is replacing Colin?
1.3 Why did Colin leave?

About the Music..
2.0 What will they sound like?
2.1 When will singles/albums be released??
2.2 Gigs/tours???

Answers so far...

About the band..
-----------------

1.0 Who are Wilt, and where do they come from?

Wilt is to be the new guise of former Kerbdog Singer/guitarist Cormac Battle,
and drummer Darragh Butler. A further new member will be on Bass. The band is
already together(??). Oh yeah, thet're from Kilkenny, Ireland.

1.1 What happened to Kerbdog?

After Kerbdog's long battle (lol - irony) with obscurity, Colin has decided to
leave Kerbdog. This move has lead to Cormac and Darragh forming Wilt. I believe
that this was mainly because they didnt want to continue on as Kerbdog without
Colin. Maybe also to distance themselves from their previous bad form.

They played their last ever gig 7/3/98 at the Dublin Mean Fiddler.

1.2 Who is replacing Colin?

Well according to Cormac, on the radio, it's a guy from Kilkenny called Michael Murphy.
This is unconfirmed officialy (ie, I dont know if they have ever played a gig with him.)

1.3 Why did Colin leave?

Colin probably became anoyed/dis-heartened when On the Turn failed to make much impact.
This was mainly due to the extreme bad handling Kerbdog got at the hands of Mercury.
He is/will return to his degree in some sort of Engineering at a well known University in Dublin.

About the Music..
------------------

2.0 What will they sound like?

This is one of the most crucial questions. At Kerbdogs Cork fairwell gig they played 2
Wilt songs. Damian Hickey was there and picks up the tale... "They played 12 songs
including 2 songs that WILT will release...To be honest there does not seem to be any
change in music style from the 2 WILT songs they played.I asked cormac what wilt will
sound like and he said 'Rock & Roll'. Typical cormac wit."

From the one song we were treated to at the last Kerbdog concert, they are still
the same style of band.

2.1 When will singles/albums be released??

Kerrang said the new year. Damien says "According to Cormac a single will be out in January".
Rumours of a new album have been around for nearly 6 months. Kerbdog were set to release
something soon, so maybe that will now become Wilt?? As to whether Colin will appear on any
Wilt material no-one knows.

NEWSFLASH! A little bird tells me the first single will be a vinyl only release on
Infectious records sometime soon (early 1998). 'Twill also be a double A side, and the
title I've been given is 'No Worries'. That's all I know.

The latest on the single is that it'll be released in May. This was from the lips of the
Battle himself.

No worries is now available on Discord. See the top news item (above) for info.

2.2 Gigs/tours???

"Cormac and Daragh were in fine form and seem eager to get their new band.. WILT on the
road", said Damien, "They were all telling me that i have to go and see the new band."
The actual facts are unclear, but let's just say 'watch this space!!

The first ever Wilt gig will be on 26th March at the Funnel in Dublin. The Funnel (so
I'm told) is 'on City Quay Dublin 2 opposite the Customs House'.
